July Message from Greg Johnson

Dear Friends, Fellow Family Caregivers and Readers,

It has now been two months since our overwhelmingly popular Family Caregiving Summit: “Name It; Know Its Many Faces” was held at the New York Academy of Medicine. Despite the worst weather in many years, the Academy’s ornate library was filled to capacity with over 300 medical professionals, social workers, social service providers, clergy, graduate students and family caregivers —all eager to learn and to share.

Many have asked for the program and the PowerPoint presentations that were used. I am pleased to report that thanks to EmblemHealth’s wonderful social media and IT staff, the entire summit —and all the PowerPoint presentations/videos— are posted.

Please feel free to share and/or to reach out directly to the speakers for further information, questions, partnerships and assistance. Each presenter is or has been an active and passionate family caregiver. They are not speaking from an academic point of view— they have been there.

And like many of the sites, policies and programs for family caregiving…they originate from the lives and life experience of the person who created them.  They are truly heartfelt and so we join together with an enormous thank you!

Enjoy the information…Share it and share the caregiving.

“We are all in this together.”
